We at The Repair Shed are incredibly grateful and thrilled to be Tring Brewery’s Charity of Choice for 2025 

 Their latest monthly special, Tinkerer’s Tipple, is now available, and we couldn’t be more excited about this partnership. 

This 3.7% Extra Pale ale is a well-polished brew featuring US Mosaic hops, offering a ‘toolbox of aromas’ including guava, stone fruit, and papaya, all built upon a light malt base. It’s described by them as “a well-polished pale that’s a sum of its parts and then some!”. 

Their 2025 monthly specials are inspired by hardware and the ‘elbow grease ethos’, proudly sporting our logo. This theme perfectly aligns with what we do here at The Repair Shed. 

The Repair Shed, founded in 2015, is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year! We are a charity programme that brings local, older people, mostly men, together to combat social isolation. Our aim is to provide welcoming sheds where they can make, mend, and form bonds with like-minded ‘Shedders’. 

We offer a creative, hands-on space for woodworking and DIY, promoting mental health and well-being, especially for men in retirement. In our sheds, members work on projects like hedgehog houses, bird boxes, and other home projects, and restore old items into unique pieces.

They find a sense of purpose, camaraderie, and relaxation through crafting, and give back to the community by repairing items for others. It’s about connection, creativity, and supporting each other14. 

As Tony Mackinder, our Repair Shed Officer, shares, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Jared and the brewery team to promote and support the Repair Shed, especially as we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of this impactful project.”.  

Simon Aulton, Chief Executive at Community Action Dacorum, emphasizes that “The Repair Sheds make a massive difference to the lives of our Shedders, reducing loneliness and isolation across the borough.“. 

Their support helps us raise crucial funds and awareness for our genuine initiative. For example, their recent ToadFest raised a whopping £4,363.07, with every penny donated to us!
