Events Volunteers

One of the few positive things that came out of the pandemic is that people came forward to volunteer in their community who had never done so before with many finding that they gained as much from it as the people they were helping.

As a legacy to this we have a database of nearly 1000 registered starting  from that time who are either still volunteering, or who are still available to if the right roles come along that fit with their lives now that life if back to normal.

To help with this we have started Time to Time volunteering to find opportunities for people who work, or maybe have caring or grandchildren commitments Monday to Friday who would happily do the odd day here or there to support a good cause.

Events Volunteers

We tasked our member charities to send us opportunities where a volunteer can just turn up on a designated day and make a difference and many have responded positively particularly for support needed at fundraising events.

This has given us volunteering opportunities to promote that busy people can fit in to their busy lives.

Marshalling at Fun runs, Mud challenges, Sleep outs, Cycle races etc, and even a Guinness world challenge at Kings Langley carnival to get as many people doing “Oops up Side your Head”!

Corporate Volunteers

Are you an organisation who would like your staff to do some local volunteering?

If so, there are two ways this can be done.

  1. You direct them to volunteering@communityactiondacorum.org.uk to register and be kept up to date with opportunities
  2. You as an organisation register with our Connect Dacorum Project via  cindy@communityactiondacorum.org.uk who will organise team volunteering days with local charities/community groups on your behalf. See Employer Supported Volunteering for more information.
