DBS Checks

Office volunteers

Many charities, organisations and clubs need to undertake DBS [Disclosure and Barring Service] checks for their employees. Whether it is to safeguard your volunteers and members or to protect your reputation.

The process can be daunting, and you may need some support. Knowing who you can legally check, how to process volunteers who lack documentation or have lived overseas, or sensitively dealing with adverse returns are all challenges for occasional users. Our dedicated team can advise you at every step of the process as a use or our service.

Enhanced DBS checks are free for volunteers and cost £42 for employees plus for members they incur a discounted £20 admin charge.

Charity good practice evaluation and the Six Point Promise accreditation scheme

At Community Action Dacorum we understand that many trustees and staff members at our member organisations can sometimes have concerns that they may not have all of their policies and procedures in place.

We are happy to do an Organisational review of your group/organisation to help guide you to ensure you have everything Governance wise in order.

We also can take you through the Volunteering six point promise accreditation scheme so that your team are supporting your volunteers, who are the life blood of organisation in the best way possible.

If you would like help with either of the above, email loretta@communityactiondacorum.org.uk for more information.
