CSR meeting

Our business members all have one thing in common – they want to make their community a better place.

Our networking events aren’t about collecting business cards and making referrals but about making connections and building relationships. They are always informal and informative. Come along to one of our events and find out for yourself.

Our community projects are led from what businesses have told us are important to them as well as a need from our charities or local schools.

EIC Insurance Services Ltd are commercial insurance brokers, providing tailored solutions to the insurance needs of businesses from one-man operations and start-ups to larger organisations turning over millions of pounds.

“Connect Dacorum helps us to raise our profile by reaching a wider audience of potentials customers, providing a solution for repurposing/gifting unwanted or redundant items such as furniture or IT equipment and helps with our Corporate Social Responsibility. We have also taken part in various employment and local school initiatives.”

See below for our list of business members.

Charity Members

The charities that contribute to Connect Dacorum are already members of Community Action Dacorum but also want to contribute into the service. Here is what Connect Dacorum means to them.

Gaddesden Place Riding for the Disabled is a local charity giving over 100 children and adults the opportunity to ride and have fun.

“As a self-funding charity, we rely on volunteers and the support of the local community. Connect Dacorum helps us raise our profile by:

  • expanding our promotion of our fundraising events
  • benefiting with advice from business experts
  • businesses volunteering with us as part of their CSR strategy
  • sharing best practice with other charities
  • staying updated on financial, environmental and
  • compliance matters

Charity Testimonials

“Whilst raising funds for necessities at the school is essential we are passionate about changing preconceptions and fears about Special Educational Needs. Connecting with the local community and businesses is key to achieving this. Creating opportunities for work experience, jobs, paid or unpaid is instrumental in achieving our goal of our children being accepted as and contributing to the community and not just tolerated. Being a member of Connect Dacorum has been vital in helping us make these connections and has been a positive vehicle for us to spread understanding and interest with local business.”

“As a local charity being part of Connect Dacorum has increased our awareness of and brought us closer to the local community. Having the opportunity to meet so many supportive businesses at the well organised networking events has helped us to build new relationships, providing fundraising opportunities and valuable business advice that we otherwise would not have been able to benefit from.”

“Druglink believes Connect Dacorum is the ideal forum for any business looking to contribute and be involved in the voluntary sector in Dacorum. As a member, Druglink has been involved in a number of different activities such as the Dragons Apprentice scheme and delivering awareness sessions to staff teams which has enabled us to build strong partnerships in Dacorum, something that would have been difficult without the help of the Connect Dacorum team. We would recommend membership to any business or organisation looking to create and expand their connections with a sector that needs your support!”

We value our membership of Connect Dacorum because of the opportunities to network with potential partners and to understand how the needs of our beneficiaries are changing.”
