Community Action Dacorum works with charities and non-profit organisations across Dacorum and its surrounding area.  As the local council for voluntary service (CVS) we exist to bring together community groups to work in partnership.  With Dacorum’s community at the heart of everything we do, we particularly support non-profit organisations to deliver the widest range of high-quality services for local people.

Supporting member organisation with their governance, safeguarding, fundraising and building cooperative partnerships allows Community Action Dacorum to ensure that community services are delivered safely and effectively in the Borough.  Our work helps more organisations to work with more people and multiply their impact.

We take an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach to service delivery, preferring to grow existing services to creating new ones.  Our aim is that the best people with the greatest experience should deliver their area of expertise and by working together with other organisations the impact on residents is the best it can be.

Our work with non-profits includes working with community groups, supporting and encouraging volunteering, and working with communities in crisis to signpost the best of Dacorum’s services to bring them together with those who need it.
