As The Repair Shed celebrates its Happy 10th Anniversary in 2025, Community Action Dacorum, extends its warmest wishes to this wonderful project and all those who assist in its work.  

Since being officially founded in 2015 (it was two years in the making prior to that),The Repair Shed has been a key initiative focused on Community and Wellbeing.  

Dr Simon Aulton, Cheif Executive Office of Community Action Dacorum, said “Over the past decade, The Repair Shed has made a massive difference to the lives of our Shedders, effectively reducing social isolation and loneliness for people over 50 across the borough.”

By providing a creative, hands-on space for woodworking and DIY, The Repair Shed has successfully championed fostering camaraderie and a renewed sense of purpose, while also promoting mental health and well-being, particularly for men in retirement.  

The Repair Shed is truly “more than just making things – it’s about connection, creativity, and supporting each other”, and Community Action Dacorum is immensely grateful for the ongoing support that allows us to help more people locally, including the exciting partnership with Tring Brewery to mark this significant milestone.
