Community Action Dacorum
£24,839 per annum (full time)
Fixed term contract to June 2021
Hertfordshire County Council in partnership with 20 organisations from the voluntary and community sector across Hertfordshire have been successful in securing funding from the Big Lottery Building Better Opportunities Fund (BBO). BBO is the result of the Big Lottery matching funds from the European Social Fund for projects across England that
tackle poverty and promote social inclusion.
In Hertfordshire our partnership is delivering three projects across the county that help to address barriers
into employment. All projects started in October 2016 and will now run until June 2021. Community Action
Dacorum is recruiting to the following positions within the project. The BBO Project welcomes applications
from all members of the community.
STRIVE in Herts
The Support and Transition Routes into Volunteering and Employment (STRIVE) in Herts project
provides tailored support taking account of interests and needs to individuals to help them move into
sustainable employment, volunteering or education.
Community Action Dacorum is currently looking to recruit two full time STRIVE Mentors. STRIVE Mentors
perform a wide-ranging role. Duties vary depending on the barriers to learning/employment faced by
the participant, the level of expertise required, and complexity of the work expected. However, the key
role of the Mentor is to support the participant in overcoming barriers to learning and barriers to work
to achieve their full potential. The “Light Touch” Mentor will perform the same duties as as other
Mentors but will hold a case load of participants closer to reaching an outcome and work with Hub
Managers/Co-ordinators to provide support, activities and identify referral routes for these participants.
